Centralized Dungeon Access
Idea: Install an NPC in the central transfer chamber that will send you to any dungeon for a fee (or a dungeon scroll)
Purpose: To stimulate activity in Dungeons and give players easier chance to party.
After reading that FoW/UW thread, its pretty obvious one main advantage of FoW/UW is the ability to go those areas directly out of a central outpost and I think Dungeons in EoTN should be treated the same.
I mean..it is called the Central Transfer Chamber after all....
Mechanic: Install an NPC that can only be used by players who have beaten EOTN. The NPC can teleport you to any dungeon you have visited for a fee of 500 gold or a Dungeon Scroll.
-==========--=-=-===-=-=-=-=-=-
Simple enough idea. kk. Crit away. Keep the live poultry to a minimum.

Hm... they could put a gate by each door... and let you reach any gate you have reached before by paying a fee or giving an item.

Not lazy. Just time is a real factor for me. I'm new to GW from WoW and one of the things I love about it is the lack of time sinks. Running to the dungeon is a bit of a time sink. Maybe make it so you have to beat the dungeon at least once before you can buy a scroll for it.

Dungeon scrolls are a good idea for GWEN, but they should only work if your in a party of 8 and ONLY if you have completed the last quest and only sell them from an NPC in the last outpost.
But only have one dungeon scroll for exile obviously!
/signed if that all happens.

Yes, it makes sense.
I don't think that 500gold would be good idea thou ... you get rid of timesink in favor of goldsink.

not all, but some dungeons can be a pain to get to, especially if you are going for HM.
A Central access sounds good to me. Of course with the most logical of restrictions, you have had to be there before (not completed, but accessed the dungeon) in order to use the access scroll or portal.

/signed, but I think it should allow players to access it if they have visited the dungeon at least once, and not be restricted to having them complete EotN. Otherwise, those that are hoping to group with players to complete the dungeons during the storyline would likely have an almost impossible time grouping...

So... let's sumarize
Possible requisites (pick the ones you like):
.Hard Mode unlocked for the Campaign/Expansion by all party members' characters.
.That dungeon reached(zoned to the first level) at least once by all party members' characters.
.That Dungeon beaten already by all party members' characters.
.Central Transfer Chamber reached by all party members' characters.
.Possibly by talking to an NPC in the central tranfer chamber. An asura by the Western currently unreachable Asura gate, sent there to help you use the gates.
.Item that may drop in Hard Mode from bosses, hard mode locked chests and boss chests. It could also be included in the Scroll trader lists.
*That item could be a consumable that would work only in a certain outpost of the region, so people have to go there, gathering people to form parties easily.
*Or it could be a Trophy token given to the NPC in the central transfer chamber, that NPC would open an 'Instant asura gate' for you (Travel by talk). In the same way you pay 1k to get to the Realms of the Gods.
.They NPC won't require items to travel to Dungeons with direct access from an outpost, only to those that players have to enter an walk through explorable areas to get to.
.One item for each dungeon...

I've a better idea, that i just have posted here for a while ago ...
give the god damn asura gate icon on the world map simple finally a SENSE, by letting it warp you into the dungeons, once you made the dungeons at least onces in Normal Mode, or onces in both modes ...
after that you need just to click the Gate icon, choose the Dungeon you want to get warped to...then you see the typical loading screen and BAM..you and your teamates will stay at at the entrance in the dungeon at stage 1 ...
much easier to code, than to implement now here and there new npc's ..

Hm... the better ideas are those that whenn you see it you say:
How come I didn't thought about that!
Yeah!
That's true.
The Asura gate icon idea synergizes PERFECTLY with the 'see other maps' idea.
You can mix both.
To see other regions, you use the boat. To go to an already visited/beaten dungeon, you use the asura gate.

The req should be that you've at least gone there before. I'm having a hard time getting to Darkrime Delves in HM w/o most of my party wiping 2-3 times.

We're gonna need to be warped outside the dungeon in some cases because some of the quests are given right outside a dungeon rather than inside an outpost. That or get a centralized way to retake all the quests.

I like that Asura Gate icon idea too. Right now the icon isn't all that useful except for folks who own GW:EN but not Prophecies. If you own Prophecies, going to LA via boat is pretty much the same as going to Boreal by Gate, so the Gate doesn't add much to your game. Why not give the Dungeon feature to the Gate icon? I like it.
Also I don't like the idea of requiring a scroll or a fee. That seems like an artificial (and annoying) addition to the feature.
